Want the latest threads without having to look for them? Best of Luck to all those still navigating this process. I’m very happy with the outcome and hope that my story can reassure people. It also noted how much I struggled with anxiety and needed prompting at times.
PIP reviews success! (England)
Sent back day after received as had already had typed upanswers. 19 Dec 2023 chased & 2nd form sent out(received) but not till after Christmas. As we all know Coviddelayed reassessments & extra time added to original claim. This is our PIP reassessment timescale. The PIP system is frustrating, and the DWP makes far too many mistakes, but the tribunal process CAN be fair if you go in prepared.
PIP, ESA & UC are changing.
What was the outcome? Make sure you renew things if you can before your current pip expires. Review was done after the award period was over. The current wait times are about 12 months for renewals. \nwhat was the outcome? Sign up to our daily newsletter.
PIP Review Success Story and Timeline
If you have any questions, I’m happy to share more about my experience. 5️⃣ Consider Getting Support – Whether it’s ChatGPT, a benefits advisor, or just someone to help organize your thoughts, don’t feel like you have to do it all alone. 4️⃣ Be Honest About Your Limitations – Stick to what is true for you, rather than what you think will get you the most points. 1️⃣ Prepare a Written Response – Go through the DWP’s reasoning and explain exactly where they got it wrong. The process was frustrating and exhausting, but I hope my experience can help others. 🔹 My Advice to Others Appealing PIP
3️⃣ Call Out Mistakes in Your Mandatory Reconsideration – If the DWP ignored evidence or mishandled your MR, make it known to the tribunal. I wanted to share my PIP tribunal experience to help others who might be going through the same thing. Hi all, afew months ago i posted about my pip review and was very anxious, but today i got it back and i have been awared pip until feb 2028!
My Successful PIP Appeal – What I Learned & How I Prepared
They then gave me a five year award enhanced on both which is what I had before and that was that so just because you get a review it doesn’t mean to say they will do an actual face-to-face or telephone but be warned it does take a long time but it doesn’t matter because they continue paying you until they sort it out. I am in year 2 of a 3 year pip award, so I am expecting my review forms through anytime now. I thought I’d share my PIP review timeline and outcome here. 2️⃣ Use Case Law & DWP Guidelines Against Them – The tribunal will respect legal precedent more than DWP assumptions (e.g., driving ≠ mobility).
Did you have to have a face to face/ telephone assessment? In December last year they sent me my review forms. \ndid you have to have a face to face/ telephone assessment?
I was initially awarded 0 points for both daily living and mobility, but after appealing, I was awarded Enhanced Daily Living and Standard Mobility for 5 years. We know the process is long and stressful, but at times it does go smoothly and can have a positive outcome without needing to go through MR and/or Tribunal. Then on the same day a text from DWP to say they had received my health assessment report and would take 6 weeks to make a decision. 1 March assessment received, 11 points Daily, 12 Mobility. 25 Feb Text from DWP assessment received. 17 Jan 2024 DWP form received.
🔹 My Advice to Others Appealing PIP
How long did the review process take? Has anyone had a recent pip review? And as I mentioned previously I had my award increased and backdated to the day my review began. Payments backdated to start of reassessment which was quoted as Oct 23.
Has anyone had success at the PIP Mandatory Reconsideration stage
In addition I would like to mention that despite all the horror stories I’d read. People so often share the negative and I just wanted to share a positive story. Threads that are – or become – political in nature may be removed in line with the Forum’s rules.
